Martha Bible

Martha Elizabeth Bible, age 84 of Morristown, passed away January 1, 2009 at Heritage Center. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her parents, Ezekiel (Zeke) Evans and Elsie Henry, stepmother, Etta Evans of Newport, godmother, Maybelle Vaughn of Norfolk, VA.; her husband, Junior Bible; and 4 sisters, Mildred Barnett, Dorothy Rogers, Lois Carter, and Alice Lane; daughter-in-law, Brenda Bible; and grandson, Heath Pollard. Survivors include her children, Johnny Bible, Betty Wallace, and Patsy (Jerry) Smith all of Morristown; grandchildren, Christi (Billy) Pollard, Amy (Perry) Helton, Angie Hall, Pam Franklin, Johnny Lee (Heather) Bible, Jennifer (Brad) Harbin, Kelly (Allen) Epps, and Claudia Bible; 14 great grandchildren; brothers, Charles (Kate) Evans of Newport, Henry (Dorothy) Evans of Alabama; sisters, Lorene (Arlie) Greezy of Ohio and Pearl Hodge of Florida; special nephew Tom Hodge of Lakeland, Fla., and several other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 8:00 P.M. Saturday, January 3, 2009 in the chapel of Mayes Family Services with Rev. Don Davis officiating. Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 4, 2009 in Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday evening 5:30 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. prior to services at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Center and Dr. peter Southerland for their special care.
