George Taylor age 80 passed away Monday, January 4, 2010 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare Systems. He worked for Modern Chair Co., Thompson Aircraft in Cleveland, Ohio, Woodcraft, and retired from Universal Furniture; he was a member of the First Christian Church and was baptized at an early age. He was preceded in death by his parents Olbert and Mary Lou Taylor; brother Cpl. Porter W. Taylor killed in the Korean War; and an infant brother. Survivors include his two sisters Margaret Taylor and Rose Mary (Jackie) Stansberry; nephews Christopher (Jennifer) Ballard Maleigha and Kyley; David and (Susan) Stansberry, Jennifer and Jacob; and Justin Turner; nieces Lisa (Jerry) Ballard, Aranda (Randy) Pruett, and Ashley Turner; a host of friends and neighbors whom he loved dearly. Funeral services will be 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2010 in the chapel of Mayes Family Services, Downtown with Rev. Edward Carr officiating; graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2010 in Jarnigan Cemetery.
