Gary "Boyd" Mayes

July 8, 1950 - November 29, 2020

Gary Dale "Boyd" Mayes, age 70 of Morristown, passed away Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020 at his residence. Boyd was the owner and operator of Boyd's Muffler Shop in Jefferson City and was an Army Veteran serving in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his sons: Gary and Darrell Mayes and parents: Ben and Barbara Jean Mayes. Boyd leaves behind his wife, Barbara Mayes; daughter: Brenda Hyatt; grandchildren: Ricky Hyatt, Kimberly Wieffering, Sarah Mayes, Taylor and Mikey Mayes and several great grandchildren.  Daughter-in-law: Terri Mayes; sister: Rhonda Daughtery and brother: Stevie Mayes. Several aunts, uncles and cousins, and his longtime friend: Glen "Red" Mills. Family and friends will gather at Hamblen Memory Gardens at 1:45 PM on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2020 for a 2:00 PM graveside service with Rev. Doug Livesay officiating.
