Kenneth Clay Harris, 88 of Talbott, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 2, 2020 at The Heritage Center. Kenneth was ordained to preach in 1959. He pastored several churches in the area. Kenneth loved camping and loved to go fishing. He also loved to read and had quite the collection. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Nannie Virginia Purkey, son: Kenneth Danny Harris; parents: Cecil and Martha Drinnon Harris; sister: Bonnie Mullins and brother, Rev. Delams Harris.
Kenneth leaves behind his granddaughter: Crystal Harris, and great granddaughter: Rae Trent. Sisters: Joyce Winstead and Dorothy Jarnigan. Daughter-in-law: Kim Harris and several nieces and nephews.
His family will receive friends Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Mayes Mortuary. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Travis Winstead officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 10:15 am for procession to Roe Junction Baptist Church Cemetery for an 11:00 am graveside service.
Pallbearers will be Travis Winstead, TJ Winstead, Edward Winstead, Bill Jarnigan and Michael Harris.
