R. L. Lakins

Obituary

R. L.  Lakins, 78, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare.  He was born and raised in Morristown, TN.  He was retired from Humana Hospital where he was Director of Engineering.  He most recently worked as a locksmith with his son, Anthony, at Access Unlimited.  He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.  R. L. had a true servant’s heart and would help anybody.  He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him, but we know he is rejoicing in heaven.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Burton F. Lakins and Irene Lakins.  He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda J. Lakins; sons Anthony (Sherrie Myatt), James, and Stephen; stepdaughter Debbie Barclay (Lee Barclay); grandchildren Emilee Barclay and Nicholas Barclay; brother Burton Lakins, Jr. (Sheila) and nephews Lee Lakins (Megan) and Eric Lakins (Rachel).

The family received friends on Saturday, April 3 from 5-8pm at Mayes Mortuary.  The funeral will be held at Macedonia Baptist Church, Morristown, TN on Sunday, April 4 at 3pm.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
