Opal Jellena (Antrican) Goodwin passed away after a short illness on August, 20, 2021 while visiting her Michigan family in Plymouth, Michigan.
Opal was born in Morristown, Tennessee on July 25, 1932. In 1996 she moved to Grundy Virginia to be close to her family. She resided there until her death. Opal spent a lifetime loving her family.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Morristown.
Opal was proceeded in death by her husband, William Alexander Goodwin, her parents, John Andrew and Bertha Long Antrican, brothers, Grant Antrican and JC Antrican, sisters, Carolyn Purkey and Doris Trolinger, grandson Reid Scott and great grandson, Andrew Goldstein.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Tom) Scott of Grundy, Virginia and Billie (Craig) Patton of Plymouth, Michigan; one brother, Jackie (Geneva) Antrican of Bean Station, Tennessee; grandchildren, Brian (Lupe) Claborn, Regan (Bill) Zhmendak, Morgan (Michael) May, Kemp Patton and Erin (Eric) Goldstein, great grandchildren, Luke Claborn, Logan Zhmendak, Parker May, Peyton Scott, Berkley May, Mia Zhmendak, Addison Goldstein and Annmarie Goldstein. She has several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Mayes Mortuary in Morristown. The viewing will be from 11-1:00 PM and the service will begin at 1:00 PM with burial to follow at Emma Jarnigan Cemetery.
