Myers, Judith J (Judy) - age 90 of Fountain City, passed away Wednesday, January 13. Judy was from Spartanburg, South Carolina and came to this area to attend Carson Newman College. She met and married Andy Myers and made Knoxville her home. She has been a member of Washington Pike United Methodist Church for almost 70 years. She served on many committees and teams but nothing brought her as much joy as the visitation she did with her friends, Dot Galloway and Brenna Porter. Known as the 3 Moms, they visited people who could not attend church regularly. Judy was an avid golfer and enjoyed the time she spent with her “Butties” from the Twilight Golf Group. She was also very well known for her famous cinnamon rolls. Mother of 3, she spent many an hour at Fountain City Ballpark where she also served on the commission. She loved her family and thought her two grandchildren and two great grand children were extra special.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, Andrew D Myers, daughter; Susan Kay Myers, brothers; Charles L. Jordan & A. Gerald Jordan as well as her sister; A. Kay Jordan. Survived by: son, Jim Myers and wife ,Kay; daughter, Jane Collins and husband, Jerry; grandchildren, Jordan Daniel and husband, Kevin; and Forrest Myers. Great grandchildren Garland Kay Daniel and Cotton Daniel.
Memorials may be made to the Urban Family Outreach Program or the Food Panty Ministry at Washington Pike United Methodist Church.
Graveside service will be held on Monday, January 18th at 2:00PM at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Richie Hayes & Rev. James R. Bales officiating.
