JoAnn Hale, age 87 of Morristown, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, was on the board of directors for the Girls Club, Inc. and also served as a Pink Lady. For her outstanding volunteer work, she received the Joe Doughtery Award from the United Way of Hamblen County. While attending the University of Tennessee, she belonged to the Kappa Delta Sorority.
Joann provided a wonderful, loving home for her family, she enjoyed cooking and looked forward to the holidays when she got to spend time with all of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Claude and Agnes Steadman, and sister and brother-in-law: Betty and Harold Greenwell.
Joann leaves her husband of 64 years: John W. Hale; daughter: Lyn Hale (Mike) Leach and son: John L. (Tina) Hale. Grandchildren: John Edward Hale, Michael Drew (Jordan) Leach and Rebecca Hale Leach and great granddaughter: Oliva Leach.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, May 17, 2019 at Jarnagin Cemetery with Rev. Mike Cutshaw officiating.
The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the services and after the service commences at the cemetery.
