Gywn Kelley, age 78 of Mooresburg, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 28, 2020. He professed his Faith in Christ at the age of 18, and was a member of Slate Hill Baptist Church. In 1970, he entered the U.S. Army proudly serving during the Vietnam War, being honorably discharged November 1, 1973.
He was preceded in death by his son Kevin Kelley; parents Author and Mae Kelley; brothers Herbert Kelley and Paul Kelley; and sisters Geraldine Kitts and Helen Bolden.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jeanette Kelley; daughter Melissa (Rick) Trent; son Greg (Stephanie) Kelley; daughter-in-law Melissa Whitt Kelley; brothers Eddie (Donna) Kelley, and Michael Kelley. Sister Doris Owens. Special grandchildren Jessica Greene (fiance David Bowlin), Dustin Trent, and Jack Kelley. Special great-grandchildren Colby Greene and Makenzie Greene. Along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Mayes Mortuary, with funeral services to follow. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Dalton Cemetery in Bean Station. Rev. Jimmy Jarnagin will officiate the services.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Kelley, Michael Kelley, Colby Greene, David Bowlin, Glenn West, and Ed McKinney. Honorary pallbearers will be Dustin Trent and Jack Kelley.
