Doyle Eugene Bray had 87 years, 10 months, and 21 days in this weary world; however, on Monday, October 21, 2019, he went to his eternal home after a brief stay at Heritage Center in Morristown.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Roy Carson and Minnie Bray, his wife of 62 years, Ella Imogene (Jean) Bray, and brother-in-law, Rev. Billy C. Carroll.
Doyle was a retired toolmaker from Jeffrey-Chain Manufacturer in Morristown. He served as a deacon at Barnards Grove Missionary Baptist Church in excess of 30 years and at times served as choir director.
He is survived by his sister, Marie (Rev. Billy) Carroll, nephew, Tim (Dianne) Carroll, niece, Susan (Chuck) Thames, 3 great nephews, 2 great nieces, 3 great-great nephews and 1 great-great niece; special family member, Kim Wolfe, and special friends, Brian and Lisa Carpenter, Ken and Peggy Parks, Carroll and Delores Wilder, and LouAnn Livesay, who helped care for him.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 23 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a memorial service immediately following conducted by Rev. Jerry DeZearn. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 24 at 10 a.m. at Meadow Branch Cemetery in Bean Station.
