(Ret.) MSGT Colin Webb, 84 of Morristown, passed away at his home on Friday, March 26, 2021.
He was a Vietnam Veteran, retiring from the Army as an E-8 MSGT after 23 years of service. After retirement he became an ROTC instructor with the Knox County School System for 16 years teaching at 5 different locations, earning the respect of his students that still exist today.
Colin had been a member of Manley Baptist Church for 28 years where he was ordained as a Deacon in 1973, was a Sunday School Teacher and gladly served in many other capacities the church needed. For the last 12 years he attended First Baptist Church Morristown as his health permitted him to. He was a 20 plus year member of the Gideons International of Hamblen County where he served as Past President.
His other memberships include the Morristown Lodge #231 F&AM for 50 years, a 32nd Degree Shriner and the Scottish Rite. He was a very large supporter of the Shriner’s Children Hospital and a 15 year volunteer for the Daily Bread Kitchen.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Roy C and Bessie Mae Webb; 3 brothers and 2 sisters and his grandson: Sawyer Braden Webb.
Colin leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Opal Braden Webb; son: Kevin (Lisa) Webb; daughter: Beth Ann Webb; grandson: Ryan Webb; mother of his grandsons: Tracy Ryder Bradshaw (Alan) and several nieces and nephews.
Military graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Chaplain James Goins will officiate.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations in his memory be made to the Shriners Children Hospital or the Gideons International.
