Charles Douglas “Doug” Davis, age 73 of Morristown, went to his Heavenly home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 28, 2020. Doug was a pharmacist at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital for approximately 28 years, and also worked at Freels Drug Store for many years.
Doug and his friends had their own bluegrass band, named “Pacifically Bluegrass,” which is listed in the Bluegrass Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis McKee Davis of 32 years, a son Clinton Doug Davis of Maine; two grandchildren Chris Davis of Louisiana, and Matthew Davis of Florida, and one great-granddaughter; a sister Jane Ann Susong and husband, Mike, of Talbott, TN, and their children Megan and Charles; sisters-in-law Barbara Eidson and husband Robert, and Judy Anderson; and Doug’s little dog and faithful companion “Booger.”
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Pauline Davis of Morristown, and his mother and father-in-law Virginia and Vestal McKee.
Friends may come by at their convenience from 12:00 noon to 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 2, 2020, at Mayes Mortuary Chapel with funeral services to follow. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 3, 2020, at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
The family wishes to give special thanks to the doctors at the ER at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital, the EMS, and also to Heritage Health Care Center and First Responders.
