On Tuesday, September 1, 2020, Alvin “Coonie” Dalton, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend passed away at age 84. He left this world a little dimmer due to his overall kindness, humor, quick wit, and servant heart for others, but woke up with Jesus and his heavenly father. He was a veteran of the US Army, member and deacon for over 50 years at First Baptist Church Bean Station, and was a proud mason of the Tate Springs Lodge, where he recently received his 50-year pin.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Tandy and Girldean Dalton, and sister, Nancy Welch.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, JoAnn, sons Randy (Dawn) Dalton, and Tony Dalton, grandchildren Danielle (Justin) Henderson and Dustin (Madison) Dalton, great grandchildren Luke, Rex, Emma, and Iva Kate, siblings Christine, Herb (Helen), Joann, and Reveline, and a host of nieces, nephews, and so many friends.
The family will receive friends at Bean Station First Baptist Church on Thursday, September 3rd from 5:00-7:00 with the funeral at 7:00. Reverend Derek Drummonds will be officiating. The graveside service will be on Friday, September 4th at 11:00 at Bean Station Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would love for donations to be made to Bean Station Cemetery Fund c/o Citizen’s Bank and Trust Co of Bean Station.
