Shelia Long Massey, 73 of Morristown, went to be with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at her residence with her family by her side. She fought a two year courageous battle against cancer with the faith of her Lord always with her until he took her home. She was a founding and faithful member of New Start Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents: Dee and Grace Long; brothers: Gene Long, Roger Long, and Estel Long; sisters: Hazel Kanipe and Florence Jean Boloen; and her husband: Charles Stanley "Bud" Massey. Sheila leaves her children: Jeff (Brenda) Massey, Linda (Tim) Pollard and Richard Massey. Grandchildren: Candace (Matthew) Tharp, Travis Pollard, Shane (Alysha Coggins) Pollard, Ashleigh (Derrick) Long and Rebekah Massey. Great grandchildren: Audriana Durigon, Marshall Tharp, Mckinize, Ethan Dallas and Grayson Long, and Kayleigh and Karlee Bise. Brother: Millard Long and sisters: Irene Brooks, Delta Bowlin and Mary Holder. Visitation will be Thursday, June 10, 2021 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Mayes Mortuary. Funeral services will follow at 5:00 PM with her son, Preacher Jeff Massey officiating. Family and friends will gather at 12:45 PM, on Friday, June 11, 2021 at Hamblen Memory Gardens for a 1:00 graveside service.
