Obituary
Lacon Hubert "Hank" Carlock III of Morristown, TN departed from us on May 15, 2014 after a lengthy illness at the age of 76.
Lacon or "Hank" as many knew him, was born March 18, 1938 in New York and grew up in many states due to his father's military service to include Virginia, Florida and Tennessee. Hank followed his father's footsteps and served with the United States Navy as an aviator and instructor during the late fifties to mid-sixties. He worked as a self-taught architect, engineer and carpenter throughout his life. As a prominent general contractor he helped to change the skyline of Nashville, TN in the seventies. He was the project manager for the construction of numerous structures in the Nashville Metro area including the Rivergate and Stonegate Malls as well as Opryland's antique Riverside carousel. He was also involved in the renovation of many historical homes and landmarks from Greeneville, TN to Portland, ME. An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed and shared his love of the beauty of this region. He is preceded in death by his mother Isabel Gaskill Carlock, his father Lacon Hubert "Hugh" Carlock Jr., his sister Janelle Carlock Maurer, former wife Patricia A "Patsey" Carlock and his daughter Stacey H Carlock. He is survived by his son Michael Carlock, his niece Jana Lee Crews and nephew William A "Tony" Crews. He is also survived by granddaughters, grandnieces and nephews and numerous friends.
The family will receive friends at Mayes Family Services 444 West Main Street, Morristown TN from 5-7 pm, Thursday May 22 2014 with a memorial service to follow.
A celebration of life service will be held
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in Hank's name.
