Frances Haun Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Connie Maloney Haun, age 99, of Russellville, passed away March 15, 2009 at Morristown Hamblen Hospital. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Burwin Haun; parents; H.C. and Lena Maloney of Warrensburg, sisters; Louise, Lois and Mary Emma, brother; Hugh, son-in-law, Chris Zimmerman. She leaves her children; Leslie (Judy) Haun, Lavinia Zimmermann, and Philip (Janice) Haun. Grandchildren; Jack Zimmermann, Julie King, Amy Nicola, Philip (P.J.) Haun, Steve (Lynn) Haun, and Michelle (Kel) Way. Great Grand Children; Brittany, Leesa, Jaclyn, Parker Zimmermann, Ashley and Alex King, Will and Claire Nicola, Auburn Haun, Dylan and Sean Way. Connie graduated from Salem Academy, in North Carolina, received her BS degree from ETSU and her Masters from UT. She received the outstanding Alumni award in 1974 from ETSU. She was a High School and Elementary teacher for 35 years. Connie was an active member of First United Methodist Church since 1936 serving as Sunday school teacher and VBS organizer and director. Also Past Regent of DAR. Chairman of East TN Heart Association, taught Red Cross swimming lessons, Board member of the Morristown Library. Served on the board of Rose Center, Charter member of the Historical Society, Hamblen County Historian, Hamblen County Humane Society and Hamblen County Democratic Executive Committee. A member of Who's Who of American Women. Founding Member of ALPS. Funeral Services will be 8:00 PM, Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Mayes Family Services with Dr. James R. McKinney, Dr. Dale Lynch and Rev. Scott Layer officiating. Family and friends will gather at Mayes Family Services at 10:00 am, Wednesday, March 18, 2009 for an 11:00 AM Graveside service at Concorde Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday, prior to the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lincoln Heights School Library at 215 Lincoln Ave., Morristown, TN 37813, Whitesburg School Library at 7859 E.
