Emma Graves Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Emma Barnes Graves, age 92, passed away November 18, 2008 at Heritage Center in Morristown. She was a resident of Johnson City for 57 years. She delighted in her yard and garden and the birds that visited her there, and her family and friends were delighted by her masterful cooking. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, and one sister; and by her husband, Emmett L. Graves. Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Cardwell of Morristown, and Marie Graves of Johnson City; four grandchildren, Amy (Mike) Hutchinson, Connie Cardwell, Grant McCray, and Sarah McCray; two great grandsons, Christian and Thomas Hutchinson; one brother, James Barnes of Palm Harbor, Fla., one sister, Ruth Robbins of Markle, IN., and many nieces and nephews. The family is grateful to the staff of Heritage Center and especially to those on Unit 1 who cared for Emma daily and loved her. Graveside funeral services will be 11:30 A.M. November 21, 2008 at Monte Vista Burial Park in Johnson City with Dr. Keith Green officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 6:00 P.M. till 7:00 P.M. at Mayes Family Services in Morristown. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to ALPS of Morristown, 600 N. Daisy St., Morristown, TN 37814.
