Charles Edward Manis, Sr Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Charles Edward (Edd) Manis, Sr, age 83, passed away Wednesday September 4, 2019 at Morristown Hamblen Hospital. Charles was a member of the Morristown VFW Post #5266 where he participated in the honor guard and retired from Morristown Utilities. He was preceded in death by his parents Hugh and Della Mae Manis, son, Charles E. Manis, Jr, brothers, James (Bill), Hugh Jr, and Paul Manis, and sister, Evelyn (Pat) Patterson. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Manis and daughter Rhonda (Rex) Russell. Three grandchildren, Joshua (Kelly) Russell, Matthew (Whitley) Russell, and Kasi-Samantha Russell. Great grandchildren, Shaelah, Shelby, Jeremiah, Elizabeth, Ellie Grace, Eli, and Aly. Brothers, Rev. Jerry (Pam) Manis and David (Tommie) Manis. Sisters, Billie (Harold) Swatsell, Faye Stapleton, Sue Platt, Janie Bofink, and sister in laws, Reba Manis and Carolyn Manis and many nieces and nephews. The Family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday September 6, 2019 at Mayes Mortuary in Morristown, TN with the funeral to follow at 8 pm. The Reverend Jerry Manis and Rex Russell officiating. The internment will be 10 am Saturday September 7, 2019 at Bethesda Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society.
