Anderson Bert Shipley, Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Anderson Bert Shipley, Jr., age 56, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Morristown Hamblen Hospital. A resident of Morristown for 48 years, raised under the Baptist faith. In his early years in Morristown, he was a chef at L&W Café, worked with the Angleos Brothers, Beef n'Bacon Restaurant and many other locations. He was a Murray Guard at Lear Siegler, Colgate and International Paper. A member of the National Guard 278th Calvary out of Russellville for over 13 years and served on the Honor Guard at VFW Post 5266, Morristown. For 14 and ½ years he was the crossing guard at Meadowview Middle School. He is preceded in death by his parents; Anderson B. "Pete" & Mary Shipley, grandparents; Elmer & Altie Williams & Arnold Bert & Letha Shipley, brother; Arnold Shipley, & several aunts & uncles. Mr. Shipley is survived by his sister; Amanda R. Cox (Becky),special niece; Candace M. Ramsey & friend Robbie Adam Drinnon, uncles; Hugh Williams & Gary Shipley, aunts; Mary Ruth Mays & Ida Simmons, former brother-in-law; Mark Cox, & his special pets; Millie & Doc. Family & friends will gather at Hamblen Memory Gardens Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 1:00 PM for graveside services. Rev. Caleb Winstead will be officiating the service with Military Honors provided by The National Guard & VFW Post 5266.
